Life Way Out Here On The Farm

The Hoop House has Tenants

Two months of work between the record rainfall accumulations and the hens have an improved run to feed in to go along with the Coup-de-Cluck poultry building I designed and fabricated last spring. Pictures will be on the website soon under Photos/Projects. There will also be some photos of the lady's themselves under Critters/BlackStarHens.

It's Foaling Time in Tennessee

We are excited that the weather, although still changing back and forth is ever creeping towards spring. That means it has been time to get the barn ready for delivering this years foals. We worked hard to finish part of the addition to the barn and actually have a real birthing stall now. We cleaned the stall mats very well and putting down natural straw instead of wood shavings. Having Roger, our farrier stop by next week and setting up the visits for the vet. It is also time to run through the checklist of everything we will need to bring healthy and happy little horses into this world. Gotta keep busy. Just in time too, our first foal of 2009 hit the ground yesterday. Her barn name is Lil Red. Be sure to check out her pictures at http://www.rsranch.net/LilRed.asp.
